The process of globalization and changes in the conditions of management and competition entailed the necessity to change the functioning of enterprises. The ability to adapt to the environment and the requirements of market economy determine the effects of operational activities and development opportunities for each enterprise. The adaptation of companies to a changing environment manifests itself through the implementation of various innovative and restructuring projects. On the one hand, the market economy creates specific conditions for the enterprise, thanks to which it can achieve its goals, on the other hand, it sets requirements to ensure a relative stability of its existence and development opportunities. Development in general is understood as a process of changes occurring over time. In the case of an enterprise, it may concern either part or the entire enterprise, and refer to all areas, i.e. goals, structure, technology, as well as the human resources. Enterprise development in practice, therefore, means: introducing new elements into the enterprise system, improving the quality of existing elements in the systems and changing systems structures. Development is primarily a qualitative phenomenon of introducing innovations (product, process, structural ones as well as innovations in the organizational and management fields). The necessity of enterprise development results from constant changes in the environment and in order to adapt to them one should constantly make changes in the enterprise, i.e. develop it. An enterprise wanting to define an effective strategy for its development must take into account many different factors coming from outside and inside the organization. Thus, this publication covers various issues related to the selected aspects of the functioning and development of enterprise, including: implementation of innovative activities, improvement of the efficiency of selected business processes, application of IT systems to knowledge dissemination processes, digital transformation, project management, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and finally contemporary employee motivation, with particular emphasis on employees of the SME sector. The monograph consists of 16 chapters devoted to the above‑mentioned issues.
Rozwój przedsiębiorstwa w praktyce oznacza więc: wprowadzanie nowych elementów do systemu przedsiębiorstwa, poprawę jakości istniejących elementów w systemach oraz zmianę struktur systemów. Rozwój to przede wszystkim jakościowe zjawisko wprowadzania innowacji (produktowych, procesowych, strukturalnych, a także innowacji w sferze organizacji i zarządzania). Konieczność rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa wynika z ciągłych zmian w otoczeniu i aby się do nich dostosować należy stale dokonywać zmian w przedsiębiorstwie, czyli je rozwijać. Przedsiębiorstwo chcąc określić skuteczną strategię swojego rozwoju musi wziąć pod uwagę wiele różnych czynników pochodzących z zewnątrz i wewnątrz organizacji. W niniejszej publikacji poruszono zatem różnorodne zagadnienia związane z wybranymi aspektami funkcjonowania i rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa, w tym: wdrażanie działań innowacyjnych, poprawa efektywności wybranych procesów biznesowych, zastosowanie systemów informatycznych do procesów upowszechniania wiedzy, transformacja cyfrowa, zarządzanie projektami, społeczna odpowiedzialność biznesu (CSR), czy wreszcie współczesne motywowanie pracowników, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem pracowników sektora MSP. Monografia składa się z 16 rozdziałów poświęconych wyżej wymienionym zagadnieniom.
